MATCH UPDATE (26-10-2009)

Today (26-10-2009), we have played a great DASHES series at TCG. Two matches have been played here to decide the series winner of this week. The two teams were lined-up under the captaincy of Yusuf and Joseph respectively.

Match Results:

Match 1: (12 Overs)
Joseph won the toss and elected to bat. Jebaseelan and Vadivel opened the innings and put a big score on the board. They have scored 48 runs for the first wicket. Vadivel out for the first wicket and scored 22 valuable runs. Javeed went to crease among the huge expectations from the crowd. But bad luck.. He was out for 1 run. Wickets started falling like playing cards. Karthik SM, Joseph, Parvathanath were our for cheaply. In other end, Jebaseelan played very well innings. He hit one six and four consecutively to accelerate the run rate. After the out of Jebaseelan, Padmanaban contributed with his bat. He scored 8 runs in last over. Padmanaban and selva remained unbeaten. Their total runs was 69 for 7 at the end of 12 overs. Yogesh, Yusuf, Shanmugam bowled very well. Yusuf bowled out 3 batsmen.

In reply for that, Yusuf made big mistake to line up a strong batting team. He choose Prabhakaran and Narayanan as opening batsmen. Prabakaran was out for duck (உருவம் தான் duck -னா, அடிச்சா ரன்னும் டக்கா?). Narayanan played very sensibly. Jagan, Vinoth, Yogesh contributed with their bat. Other batsmen failed to score runs. So, Yusuf team folded for just 36 runs. Joseph's team won the match with the huge margin of 33 runs. Yogesh was the only batsman in Yusuf side to hit a six.

Jebaseelan was elected Man of the Match.

Match 2: (10 Overs)
Again, Joseph won the toss and elected to bat first. This time, Karthik SM and Vadivel opened the innings. Vadivel was out for 2 runs. Javeed was out of form with the bat. He scored just 1 run in this match. Selva went to crease. He got some form and tried to increase the run rate. He scored six of shanmugam's bowling. Unfortunately, he retired hurt during the innings and Joseph came to bat with Sankar. Sankar Played very very wonderful innings once again. ஒவ்வொரு அடியும் சும்மா இடி மாதிரி இருந்தது. He scored 45 runs from just 15 balls. He missed unfortunately his half century. Finally, Joseph team scored 88 runs in 10 overs.

Big blow happened to yusuf team in the very first ball of their innings. Their opener Yogesh out for duck in the first ball. Jebaseelan bowled that ball and Arun was the fielder to take that catch.

The other opener Aman (surprise visitor to this ground) played very wonderful innings. Everybody lifted their eyebrows. Joseph did not ask his main bowlers to bowl as they have set very big target. Jebaseelan, Joseph, Parvathanathan, Rajkumar bowled first 6 overs. yusuf team utilized it very well and they replied very strongly. Lakshmanan trashed Joseph's team bowling. Selva missed 2 cathces of Lakshmanan. At one moment they needed just 28 runs from 24 balls. So, Joseph made a bowling change. He asked Sankar to bowl. The in form batsman Aman out in sankar's bowling. Then, nobody can score from that level. The last 3 overs was bowled excellently by Sankar and Padmanaban. Finally Joseph team won the match by 28 runs. And, they won this week DASHES Series as 2-0.

Sankar was selected as Man of the Match and Man of the Series.

1. Yusuf team night shift முடித்து விட்டு போட்டிக்கு வந்தார்கள்.

2. Rajkumarரும் night shift முடித்து விட்டு TCG க்கு வந்தார்.

3. அதிகம் எதிர்பார்க்கப்பட்ட KK, அவருடைய costumeக்கு ஏற்ற மாதிரி விளையாட வில்லை. அவர் bat செய்யும் போது 3 stumps உம் எகிறியது.

4. yusuf ஏனோ முன் வரிசையில் ஆட வரவில்லை. அவர் வந்திருந்தால் ஒரு வேலை அவரது அணி நன்றாக ஸ்கோர் சேஸ் செய்திருக்கலாம்.

5. 2 வது போட்டியின் போது செல்வா, அவர் கண்ணில் அடி பட்டு retired hurt ஆகி வெளியேறினார்.

6. சங்கர் அடித்த பல சிக்ஸர் ரோடு அருகே சென்றது.

7. இரண்டு அணியினரும் ஸ்கோர் கவுண்ட் செய்யும் போது சிறப்பாக நடந்து கொண்டார்கள்.

8. பர்வதநாதன் & சங்கரும் water cane கொண்டு வந்தார்கள். வீரர்களின் தாகம் தீர்த்த வள்ளல்கள்.

9. yusuf அணியினர் ஸ்கோர் கவுண்ட் செய்வதற்காக ஒரு தனி புத்தகமே கொண்டு வந்து இருந்தனர்.

10. லக்ஷ்மணன் அடித்த ஒரு பந்து செல்வா கையில் பட்டு சிக்ஸர் ஆகியது. அதில் செல்வாவிற்கு விரலில் காயம் ஏற்பட்டது. அதனால் 2 வது போட்டியில் அவர் பந்து வீச வரவில்லை.

11. பத்மநாபன் சிறந்த பந்து வீச்சாளராக செயல் பட்டார். அவர் மொத்தம் 3 over பந்து வீசி 3 விக்கெட் எடுத்து வெறும் 5 ரன் மட்டுமே கொடுத்து அசத்தினார்.

12. இத்தொடரின் ஒரே இடது கை ஆட்டகாரர் பர்வதநாதன்.

13. இத்தொடரின் ஒரே வலது கை சுழர் பந்து வீச்சாளர் Rajkumar.

14. இரண்டாவது போட்டியின் போது ஒரு ரன்னுக்காக சர்ச்சை ஏற்பட்டது. யோகேஷ் பெருந்தன்மையாக அதை ரன் இல்லை என்று அறிவித்தார்.

15. போட்டியின் போது ஸ்கோர் கவுண்டிங்க்காக சிறு சர்ச்சை ஏற்பட்டது.

16. போட்டிகளை துல்லியமாக படம் பிடிக்க நாராயணன் டிஜிட்டல் கேமரா கொண்டு வந்தார். மிக்க நன்றி நாராயணன்.

17. தொடர் நாயகன் விருது பெற்ற சங்கருக்கு ஹீரோ ஹோண்டா மோட்டார் பைக் பரிசாக வழங்க பட்டது.

18. டேஷேஸ் கோப்பையை ஜோசப், பலத்த கர கோசத்தினிடையே பெற்று கொண்டார்.

MATCH UPDATE

After Diwali celebration, we have played DASHES matches at Trisulam Cricket Ground (TCG) on 19th October.

Today, 3 matches were played to decide the winner of this week DASHES SERIES. The teams were captained by Javeed and Selva respectively.

Match Results:

Match 1: (8 Overs match)

Selva won the toss and elected to bat first. They managed to score only 27 runs in 8 overs. Jebaseelan was the highest scorer in this innings with 12 runs.

Captain Vs Captain

The interesting point was Selva bowled out by Javeed. Captain bowled opponent team’s captain.

In reply to that Javeed team failed to chase that score. The last 4 overs bowled excellently by Padmanaban and Selva. Javeed team needed 10 runs from last 6 balls. They did it successfully last week. But it did not happen this week. Arun faced selva’s first ball. He can’t score for the first 3 balls. He scored 1 run in the 4th ball. So, now they need to score 9 runs in just 2 balls to win the match. Javeed faced 5th ball. He failed to hit that ball. So, the win was guaranteed to selva’s team. He bowled out Javeed in the last ball. Again it was Captain Vs. Captain.

Selva team won by 8 runs.

Match 2: (10 Overs match)

Javeed won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 51 runs in 10 overs. In reply, Selva’s team failed to chase this score. They managed to scored just 33 runs and lost the match by 17 runs. Very good bowling performance by Yusoof, Dinesh, Javeed.

Match 3: (8 Overs match)

Even though it was a very hot day, all the players agreed to play the 3rd match to decide the series winner. KK and Amarnath had urgent work and they retired from the series. So, yusoof came to selva team. Selva won the toss and choose to bat first. They scored 57 runs in just 8 overs. Yusoof, Vinoth, Mustak, Padmanaban, Jebaseelan batted very well.

Javeed team chased it very hard. But the good bowling performance from their opponent can’t allow them to reach this score. Javeed & Co managed to score just 43 runs in 8 overs and lost by 14 runs.

This week DASHES SERIES won by selva’s team as 2-1.

Some important features of this week DASHES SERIES:

1. The series was so enjoyable as Yusoof, Thamizh, Yogeshwaran, Lakshmanan, KK, Rafiq, Vadivel V were participated newly in this series.

2. Even though yusoof tried to make opponent team against DASHES Series, he came to play here at TCG(Trisulam Cricket Ground) with his some of the team mates.

Hats Off to Yusoof Bhai.

3. Selva broke his ankle by trying to save a boundary. He also fell down while running for a run. He got injury in his hands and leg.

4. Yogeshwaran and Arun tried to take a catch at boundary line. Both collided each other, Yogeshwaran got heavy injury.

5. Javeed made the ball disappear into the Railway track twice in consecutive balls.

6. All the 3 matches were won by the team batted first. Toss was the crucial thing in this ground (Like Kolkata's Eden Garden ground).

8. Joseph S can't come to play in DASHES Series for the last two occassions as he was in his native place for urgent work.

7. Rajkumar, Amarnath, Rafiq, Yogeshwaran etc., came to the ground after completing their night shift work. Hats Off to you guys. Thanks for coming.

We have played 3 matches.

Match Results:

Match 1: (10 Overs match)

Javeed team won by 6 runs. They scored 54 runs in 10 Overs. Selva team failed to chase this score. They were all out for 48 runs in 10 Overs.

Match 2: (10 Overs match)

Many records were broken in this match. Sankar scored highest individual score in DASHES Series. He scored 65 runs. He made another record with Padmanaban. They both scored 97 runs for the first wicket partnership. It helped their team to score 100 runs in 10 Overs. It was the highest runs scored by any team in this ground.

Javeed team collapsed to 19 runs all out in just 6 Overs. It was the lowest score by any team in this ground in DASHES Series. They lost in 81 runs. This 81 runs win margin was the highest margin by any team in this ground.

Match 3: (8 Overs match)

Selva team scored 45 runs in 8 Overs. In reply to that, Javeed team chased this score successfully in just 6 Overs. Vadivel (Padmanaban’s friend) played very good innings in this game.

Finally, Javeed team clinched the DASHES SERIES as 2-1.

டேஷேஸ் வரலாறு

After Merrill Premier League (MPL), many guys wanted to play cricket regularly. So, we looked for the possibilities to play regular cricket, atleast once in a week. Mr. Arunkumar took a great initiative to co-ordinate the guys and collected the funds to buy the kit. Even girls in the office also sponsered to play.

How the name comes?

Selva, Javeed and Joseph wanted to name the series. Initially, we liked to call as "EPL". But Javeed suggested that it is like copying "IPL" and "MPL". So, we combinedly choosed the name "DASHES". It comes from the great epic series between England vs Australia, the "ASHES". "DASHES" means guys shows their spirit to win the game against their opponent. DASHES series has been playing on every monday, hence it has been called "Monday Morning Dashes Series".

First official DASHES seires played on 17th August.

We have choose Trisulam ground to play DASHES on every monday for several reason.

1. The ground is near to Trisulam Railway station. So, all the players can easily reach the ground.

2. Because of Monday, no crowd will be on the ground.

3. Monday morning, we have minimum staffing in the office. So, many players can come to play.
